"Spirit Blade: A World Of Shadows" Mixing Begun!
Mixing has officially gotten underway for the climactic third part of our genre-bending sci-fi trilogy. Although I still have a few actors who need to record their roles, I have plunged headfirst into work on the songs. Seven new songs will be featured, half of which are once again modified and re-adapted renditions of songs found in church history. Not exactly "classics", they will sound new to many ears, and even more so once I'm done with them.
In the last few weeks I've finished writing the rest of the songs featured in the project, which are entirely new. It has been a creatively exhausting and slow-moving process and the mixing I have begun for the first of them also hints at a long road ahead. But I'm very excited to be in the stage that I'm in, which in some ways is my favorite part of the creative process!
You're invited to join me as I chronicle the ups and downs of my work on a monthly basis as a special treat for Spirit Blade Insiders!
RPG Giveaway!
Blackwyrm Publishing is giving away a copy of the Posthegemony RPG on the Spirit Blade Underground Podcast!
Posthegemony: Terra Nomenklatura (by Jason Walters) is a unique science fiction setting designed to evoke the mood of films such as Logan’s Run, The Island, and Idiocracy. Using a decision chart and guided by the game master, the players construct a spaceship and escape from the Posthegemony, a futuristic worldwide society loosely based on Chinese utopian ideals.
Interpersonal relationships and collective storytelling play a large part in Posthegemony. The player characters (known as “Interesting Persons”) must describe how they meet one another, how they acquire and assemble the parts of their spacecraft, and how they protect one another from “ReEducation” while they do it. They can also “fill in the blanks” of Posthegemony society as they see fit, describing where their characters live, what their particular city is like, and how the peculiar psychological problems inherent in urban living have effected them.
For a chance to win a copy of Posthegemony,

Shifting Schedule
You may have noticed that this and the last newsletter have been published a little late. The last few months have not only been extremely busy, but have also been a big shift in terms of my work routine. Recently I've been re-evaluating how I can best make use of my time, which has caused me to re-organize my workday. Somewhere in the shuffle I've fallen behind with the newsletter, but I'm committed to getting back on track.
Stay tuned for more updates next month! (Er, I mean a little later THIS month, hopefully!)
As always, there's a TON more to explore at spiritblade.net!
